Day 96: British humour
In an optional extra Honours Seminar class today we watched our professor's favorite comedy, which was very British but also hilarious. Made me realize there aren't too many good comedies from the US, though. I actually cannot think off the top of my head what my favorite comedy is... but I guess I'm not too much of a movie person anyway.

And you're not going to tell us what the professor's favorite comedy is?
OK, here are some American comedy favorites of mine, with a wide mix of eras and styles:
A Shot In The Dark (1964)
The Nutty Professor (1963)
Modern Times (1936!)
This Is Spinal Tap (1984)
Airplane (1980)
Being There (1979)
Cat Ballou (1965; just for Lee Marvin alone)
When Harry Met Sally (1989)
And, of course:
While You Were Sleeping (1995)
I think America does better with TV.
Arrested Development
Its Always Sunny in Philadelphia
30 Rock
But maybe 3 shows doesn't cut it across the pond. I called you last night, by the way. And left a message, even though I know you won't get it. It was my birthday and I was sad that none of my roommates were there ) :
Anyway, this was a pretty irrelevant comment.
